WORLD HEALTH DAY
7th APRIL THROUGH END OF MONTH
In 2017 Aditya Birla Capital Health Insurance started an initiative on World Health Day (7th April) called 'Jump for Health'. I was privileged to be able to get on board with helping them from the start. This program is to help get people moving while also helping those who are in need of a prosthetic leg walk. Last year we were able to get participants from all over the globe involved. This would not have been possible without all of my wonderful friends, teachers, school mates and colleagues I have known throughout all these years.
Last year we were able to donate over 500 legs to people in India, and this year we want to do so much more.
This can only be achieve by getting as many people as possible involved. Every jump counts! (seriously, they have someone tallying constantly throughout the month)
What You Do:
1. Record yourself jumping a minimum 10 times.
Who Can Do It?
1. Anyone - so get involved, don't wait to be nominated.
2. Kids - this is a great school or club project and takes very little effort. It is helping people in a much less privileged life be able to walk and costs absolutely nothing to do.
3. IDEAS.

- What jump you might ask... BE CREATIVE!!!! But if you need a guideline, let me help.
- Definition of Jump: verb ~ push oneself off a surface and into the air by using the muscles in one's legs and feet.
- Suggestions: jump rope, jumping jacks, basketball layups, burpees, plyometrics, volleyball blocks, bunny hops...need I go on? You just JUMP!!!!
- We have grown this project through social media, so using Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
- Use hashtag: #jumpforhealth & #abcHealthInsurance
- 3 friends to participate too (That is how we make it grow. The more people, the more jumps, the more legs we get to donate!)

- Jump Rope Challenge. Last year I bought jump ropes with counters and took it to the streets to play with the local children. I explained to them we were going jump 10,000 jumps this afternoon to donate a leg. I did this 4 different times throughout the month and the local kids loved being involved.
- Group Fitness Instructors and Trainers - Create a workout specifically for Jump for Health. Take a video of the class, have planned the number of jumps the workout will have. At the end of the class have everyone say on video 'We Jumped for Health'. When posting tell us how many participated.
- Schools: gym classes, home room classes, any class - Create a class sign in sheet and start the day with 20 jumps, at the end of the week, all the students sigh off on sheet and the teacher signs off as well. Once again, make a little video and explain to the kids how important it is to move for our health and how this initiative is helping those less fortunate be able to walk.
- Companies: A great way to give back to the community by making your employees more health conscious. Set up a day to 'Jump for Health' and it is a great way to cross promote your brand and its awareness for helping others in need as well.
- Be Creative!!! Dance, Gymnastics, Martial Arts...possibilities are endless.
